Road Work is Worth the Wait

About seven weeks ago I started an amino acid therapy with a change over to a couple of compounded drugs. You'll have to read my March post to get more details.
It's been quite a trip and like all memorable trips I'm holding on to some experiences that will benefit me in the future.
One experience is that this whole ride has pulled Paul and I even closer. We value each other even more. We snuggle on the couch when we're watching TV. Where he didn't really cook much before, we cook together. We hold hands whenever we take a walk. "I love you" has become a commonly used phrase around the house.
Another thing I've experienced is being more comfortable in taking my time. I haven't been able to get chores or even things like eating and getting dressed quickly. Now that I can move quicker I choose not to most of the time. I like eating slower and appreciating my meal. I like sitting and talking to Paul without thinking I need to be doing something else. Like Martha Stewart says, 'good things'.
I've experienced a gamut of thoughts and emotions in My faith in Christ. I have had a lot of extra time to think about it...read about it...pray about it.  I've had to choose to believe based on how I have known Him to be present with me in past situations because I had to trust him without feeling any assurance.
It so NOT about me and how much faith I have anyway. It's kind of like I am have been pulling out my roots of faith and am replanting it in even richer soil. (Ephesians 3:17)

It's so completely about Christ Jesus and his amazing grace towards me. I don't have to be productive or healthy or even good to be loved by him. Like a perfectly preserved flower, I have been pressing grace into my soul. There's so much more beauty in that word now that I have learned new areas where His grace goes.

So the 'road work' is worth the wait...

Hi! I just stumbled across your blog today...and could really relate! I also love Jesus...and have been learning a lot about grace and have had many struggles with health. Don't have clear diagnosis or answers on my condition, but I am learning to lean on Christ and rest...slow down a bit! Thank you for sharing from your heart. Really glad that I found you today!
